Ganado Advocates at Malta Superyacht Symposium Author: Ganado Advocates Published on July 4, 2022 Christine Cassar Naudi and Matthew Attard addressed the audience at the Malta Superyacht Symposium, an event organised by The Malta Chamber and the Malta Maritime Law Association (MMLA) at The Phoenicia Malta between the 6th and 7th of July. The symposium brought together key local stakeholders and professionals from the international superyacht community to discuss the future strategy of Malta’s superyacht industry, with the aim to continue building on the jurisdiction’s leading position within the area. Matthew Attard, lawyer within the firm’s shipping and yachting practice, participated in the opening panel discussion on the 7th July to address the current state of play in terms of regulation of the superyacht industry. Mathew was joined by other lawyers, operators and representatives from Transport Malta and the Malta Ship Registry on this panel. Christine Cassar Naudi, Partner within the firm’s tax team who heads the tax practice for yachts, joined the symposium’s closing discussion with other operators and representatives from the Malta Business Registry and the Malta Ship Registry about the future roadmap for the superyacht industry in Malta.
