GANADO Advocates sponsors the 8th International Air Law Moot Court Author: Ganado Advocates Published on March 29, 2017 The International Institute of Air and Space Law of Leiden University joined forces with the Maltese Ministry of Tourism and the University of Malta to organise the eight edition of the International Air Law Moot Court Competition in Malta, between April 6th and 9th, at the Old University Building in Valletta. The International Air Law Moot Court Competition is an annual appointment for law students from around the world who want to enhance their knowledge within the field of international law, specifically aviation law, and gain valuable experience in developing arguments. On this occasion, The Ministry of Tourism of Malta and the International Institute of Air and Space Law of Leiden University are organising a conference on April 6th to mark the start of the moot court in Malta. The conference, entitled ‘Checkpoint Malta: In Pursuit of Opening Skies’, will be addressed by the Minister for Tourism, Honourable Edward Zammit Lewis and a number of local and international speakers who will contribute to the various panel discussions being organised on the day. Click here for the conference programme. As a leading player within the Aviation space in Malta, GANADO Advocates has been invited to actively contribute to this 4-day programme. Together with other aviation professionals (coming from Europe and beyond), Dr Daniel Aquilina, Partner heading the Aviation practice at GANADO Advocates, will be participating in the panel session entitled ‘Financing Aviation: Where are the Loopholes?’ on Thursday April 6th. Dr Sylvann Aquilina Zahra, Consultant within the firm’s Competition law practice, will act as a judge during the Moot Court Competition that will take place between Friday 7th and Sunday 9th April and that will be themed around state subsidies and fair competition.
