Jotham Scerri-Diacono participates at MMLA’s academic legal briefing Author: Ganado Advocates Published on February 20, 2020 The Malta Maritime Law Association (MMLA) organised an Academic Legal Meeting on 13 February, with the aim to have an open discussion on recent case law and other developments which are of interest to the legal maritime community, with 35 delegates in attendance. During the meeting, Dr Jotham Scerri-Diacono, a partner within Ganado Advocates’ Shipping team and a member of the MMLA Executive Committee, talked on what is included in a Judicial Sale of Ships. In his presentation, Jotham gave an overview of pronouncements that Maltese Courts took in several decisions. In relation to these pronouncements he spoke about the lessons learnt from the court decisions and the complications that may arise in the judicial sale. The presentation was followed by an engaging panel discussion together with the participants. The MMLA is a non-profit making, voluntary organisation set up in 1994 and it promotes the study and advancement of Maritime Law and its administration.
