André Zerafa participates in a fintech-focused seminar organised by the Academy of European Law

On the 30th and 31st of May, the Academy of European Law (ERA) organised an interactive online seminar focused on the most recent EU developments in the fintech, cryptoassets and distributed ledger technology (DLT) space.

Targeted at legal practitioners and other professionals in the payments services sector, the seminar delved into fintech regulation in Europe and beyond, cybersecurity for digital operational resilience and the EU strategy on data and digital finance, amongst other themes. The seminar included a specific session on fintech within the asset management sector that was delivered by André Zerafa which delved into the regulatory initiatives taken on fintech by the Malta FSA, the UK FCA, the Luxembourg CSSF and the European Commission and Supervisory Authorities. The session also identified trends in financial technology as these are impacting the asset management market such as artificial intelligence, GAMPs and other platform solutions which are enhancing an already competitive market.
