Anthony Cremona to participate at the STEP Malta conference

Between the 6th and 7th October, STEP Malta will be hosting the 2022 edition of its international STEP conference at the Hilton Malta. The two-day conference, supported by Ganado Advocates and themed around ‘the evolution of fiduciary services’, is aimed at trustees and the financial services industry generally and will provide key insights on the global tax and estate planning environment, crypto assets, ESG and sustainable investing, the Common Reporting Standard and exchange of information, and Malta’s experience from enhanced monitoring, besides various trust and fiduciary-themed topics that are bound to interest the varied audience that is expected to attend this prestigious event.

On the second day of the conference, Anthony Cremona, partner heading the trusts and foundations and Financial Crime practice at Ganado Advocates, will be a speaker in one of the afternoon sessions entitled ‘The DNA of a Maltese foundation: segregated cells and other futureproof features’. In this session, Anthony will be focusing on the novel feature of segregated cells of Maltese foundations by also exploring the possible use of such cells, their characteristics and key qualities. In addition, he will be examining other attractive features of Maltese foundations, such as the possibility of redomiciliation, conversion into other types of arrangements, as well as current uses that make Maltese foundations ‘futureproof’.
