Stephen Attard,Tax Partner at Ganado Advocates, participated at the annual European Region Tax Conference of the International Fiscal Association held in Lausanne, Switzerland between 12 – 14 June, 2024. More than 350 tax professionals from law-firms, tax advisory firms, tax authorities, and international organisations were present at the Conference.

The theme of the Conference was Tax Transparency in International and European Tax Law, and key topics which were tackled by delegates included :

  • the relation between tax transparency and tax certainty, and the need of tax transparency to serve the principle of legality and equal treatment before the law.
  • competing concerns such as data protection and the right to privacy;
  • ESG; and
  • corporate tax governance.
