The piece reports with a recent decree delivered by the First Hall Civil Court (Malta) on 30 August 2021 on an interim injunction requested by an incumbent concessionaire against the contracting authority’s threatened eviction. This decree rejected a request for the issue of injunctive relief against eviction by a contracting authority on the basis that the incumbent concessionaire had verbally agreed to an extension of contract to counter the negative consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic on its business.
