The coming into force of the Taxonomy Regulation has proven to be a watershed moment within the realm of Environmental (E), Social (S) and Governance (G), triggering a spate of regulatory initiatives at a European level which are geared towards honouring the mantra of the European Green Deal, and the Paris Agreement which came before it – i.e. the diversion of private capital towards those investment opportunities which facilitate the attainment of low greenhouse gas emissions and climate resilient development.

Ganado Advocates has been at the forefront of this shift in the regulatory landscape, and has to date assisted several financial market participants and financial advisers with the preparation of their regulatory disclosures under the Taxonomy Regulation and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Directive (SFDR) – from the drafting of ESG policies, to the preparation and/or review of the requisite website and pre-contractual disclosures mandated by the existing regulatory regime. Given its cross-departmental expertise on the topic, the firm regularly advises in-scope insurance undertakings and intermediaries, providers of pension products, investment firms and credit institutions with their ongoing compliance needs, and is also best placed to assist prospective issuers seeking to issue and admit to listing sustainable instruments such as green bonds.

The team actively follows all developments which are shaping the ‘green’ economy, and delivers regular training sessions to boards and C-suite executives on ESG and the corresponding regulatory framework.
