Implementation Workshop: The Insurance Market and GDPR Author: Published on June 23, 2017 On the 5th of July, GANADO Advocates organised a half-day workshop aimed at providing a practical overview of the steps required to be taken in the run-up to May 2018, when the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force. The workshop, organised at GANADO Advocates’ offices in Valletta, was delivered by Julian Boffa, who is an Insurance Regulatory Advisor within the firm’s Insurance and Pensions team. The workshop was well attended by insurance professionals, data officers and representatives, compliance officers, analysts, and technical staff who are involved in risk and compliance and who wanted to gain insight into the new regulatory environment for re/insurance companies and intermediaries under the GDPR.
