Recent amendments to Malta’s Company Service Providers (CSP) framework have officially come into effect, bringing significant regulatory changes that will impact a broad spectrum of individuals, both local and foreign, who act as directors, company secretaries, or hold equivalent positions within Maltese companies. The updated framework primarily affects Class B CSPs, introducing two key regulatory mechanisms: registration and notification. These changes aim to address the number of directorships or similar roles held by individuals, reinforcing oversight while maintaining proportionality. In addition to changes to CSP Act, updates have also been made to the CSP (Fees) Regulations, CSP (Exemption) Regulations, and the CSP Rulebook and a new Rulebook tailored specifically for Limited Company Service Providers has also been issued to reflect this newly recognised category.
