The panel will undertake a comparative examination of the VAT-paid status of superyachts, with particular reference to the legal and regulatory frameworks and prevailing market practices in Malta, Spain, Greece and the UK. Representatives from each jurisdiction will consider the legal interpretation of “VAT Paid” status within the EU, the resulting implications for superyacht ownership structures and resale transactions, and the measures available to superyacht brokers, managers and owners for the effective management of associated risks.

Christine will moderate the proceedings and present the Maltese perspective on the relevant VAT considerations. The panel will also comprise:

  • Miguel Angel Serra, Founding Partner of LegaLLey+ (Spain)
  • Joe Francis, Director at PKF Francis Clark (UK)
  • Jennifer Timinis, Sea Greece (Greece)

The conference will convene professionals from the superyacht and business aviation sectors to examine significant regulatory and fiscal developments, VAT and customs compliance, ownership and operational structures, and emerging taxation matters affecting superyachts and business jets. The programme will further consider customs strategies, broader industry developments, and the appropriate structuring of superyacht and business jet operations.
