Ganado Advocates to sponsor the 2026 IFSP Annual Conference

Ganado Advocates will be sponsoring the Annual Conference of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP) being held on 26 May, 2026 at the Hilton Malta.

With an expected participation of around 200 senior practitioners from over 120 advisory and CSP firms active in both international and domestic markets, the annual conference provides a key platform for industry discussion on the evolving regulatory, legal and governance landscape shaping financial services in and from Malta.

The agenda will cover a broad range of timely topics, including recent developments in company law and practice, the evolution of financial services regulation, and broader strategic themes impacting the sector such as governance, ESG, AI, cyber risk and geopolitical uncertainty.

Discussions will also explore Malta’s positioning as a family office hub, the shifting international tax landscape, and developments in banking and cybersecurity, alongside wider considerations on regulatory collaboration, risk assessment and cross-authority information sharing.

Stephen Attard (Partner, Corporate Finance and Tax) will be a speaker and moderator of the panel on “Recent Developments in Company Law & Practice”. This panel will analyse the various proposed amendments to the Companies Act which have been prepared by the IFSP’s Corporate Law & CSP Committee headed by Stephen Attard. The panel members will also address the recently enacted simplified liquidation procedures, practical issues relating to the MBR’s online portal, and the recently launched Malta Business Wallet.

Anthony Cremona (Partner, Private Client & AML-CFT Regulatory) will be a panelist during the panel discussion titled “Herding Cats, a Regulatory Perspective”, which will focus on consolidating risk assessments, reporting and rethinking frameworks for cross-authority collaboration and safe information sharing.
