GANADO Advocates lawyer Nicholas Curmi joins panel discussion at Global ABS 2018 Published on June 11, 2018 On Wednesday 6 June, Nicholas Curmi participated in a panel discussion on blockchain at the Global ABS 2018 in Barcelona, where GANADO Advocates and FinanceMalta were joint sponsors of the event. Dr. Curmi, who heads the securitisation practice at GANADO Advocates joined securitisation leaders from Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, DLA Piper, Deloitte and Ernst & Young in discussing current developments and the potential for blockchain in the ABS space. All panelists agreed that all ABS market stakeholders stand to benefit from the increased transparency, reliability and efficiency that blockchain technology can provide and that it is a question of when, not if, the first entirely blockchain-based securitisation is put in place, some even foreseeing the implementation of such a transaction as early as this year.
