We are interested in hearing from lawyers with one to two years’ experience in a corporate or related commercial practice to support the Insurance team in a broad range of work, including company secretarial services to the firm’s insurance and pensions clients.     Regulatory Advisor

    We are looking for a mature, experienced person to perform the role of a regulatory advisor and form part of a team of lawyers and regulatory advisors dedicated to the insurance clients of Ganado.  A suitable candidate for this role is a compliance professional who is comfortable in a fast-paced growth environment and is well-versed in regulatory guidelines and best practices for authorised entities in the insurance sector.  The role involves assisting and advising clients to be compliant with the applicable legislation and acting as a link between the clients and the Malta Financial Services Authority.  The selected candidate will be expected to keep up to date with changes in regulatory legislation and guidance.

    Responsibilities:

    Assisting clients in regulatory processes such as:
    • Obtaining or extending a Licence
    • Passporting by services or establishment
    • Portfolio transfers/ Mergers & Acquisitions/ Re- domiciliations
    • Supporting of or provision of Compliance Officer duties
    • Developing required governance/compliance-related documentation, including policies and procedures manuals
    • Performing of gap analyses and compliance assessments
    • Reviewing or drafting of compliance reports
    • Provision of compliance training

    Qualifications & Experience:

    Candidates should preferably:
    • hold a legal or financial services qualification from a reputable professional or tertiary education institution; and
    • have at least 5 years' experience in the financial services industry, preferably in a compliance-related role.

    Senior Tax Advisor

    We are seeking to recruit a qualified professional tax advisor to join our esteemed firm in Luxembourg. Interested applicants must hold a university degree in law (Master 2), ideally accompanied by an LL.M in tax and have worked in a similar position for at least 8 to 10 years.  The successful candidate will play a critical role in advising our existing clients as well as bring in a new portfolio of clients. Each applicant is expected to:

    • Have a sound academic preparation in law;
    • Have a positive attitude towards clients and colleagues;
    • Be able to work well within a dynamic team;
    • Proven track record in business development, client acquisition, and relationship management;
    • Communicate confidently and effectively in both English and French or German;

    Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Specialist

    We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Specialist to join our team. The GRC Specialist will be responsible for developing and maintaining our firm’s governance, risk management, and compliance programmes. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to ensure that our firm adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices (including ISO standards, cybersecurity practices, and GDPR), that our risk management strategies are effectively implemented, and that the firm maintains a robust security posture.

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities
    1. ISO Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain ISO management systems across the relevant legal entities.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 9001) and relevant regulations.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with ISO frameworks.
    • Prepare and present ISO compliance reports to senior management and relevant committees.
    1. Cybersecurity Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain GRC frameworks that align with cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR).
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies and practices and provide remediation guidance.
    • Prepare and present cybersecurity compliance reports to senior management and relevant committees.
    • Stay current on best practices and technological advancements, acting as a point of reference for security assessments and regulatory compliance.
    • Contribute to the development of appropriate security KPIs, objectives, and strategies to improve the firm’s security posture and maturity. Develop reporting metrics, dashboards, and evidence artifacts to communicate with business stakeholders periodically.
    1. Governance:
    • Establish and enforce governance frameworks and policies aligned with ISO standards.
    • Monitor compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and present governance reports (including compliance monitoring reports) to senior management and relevant committees and provide remediation guidance.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address and resolve compliance issues identified in the compliance monitoring reports.
    • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and standards that impact the firm.
    1. Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess firm related risks, including those related to information security, data privacy, and technology operations.
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans to address identified vulnerabilities.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of risk management practices.
    • Maintain the firm’s risk registers.
    • Attend and contribute to internal risk committees, providing insights and recommendations.
    • Prepare and present risk reports to senior management and relevant committees and provide remediation guidance.
    • Act as the Risk Officer of any of the legal entities.
    • Assist firm members in supplier onboarding risk assessment processes.
    1. Training and Awareness:
    • Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness of ISO standards and GRC requirements across the firm.
    • Develop educational materials and resources to support ongoing learning.
    • Provide guidance on and assist firm members with GRC-related matters.
    • Support the development of a risk-aware culture within the firm.
    Requirements - Essential
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management or IT audit, ideally in a GRC capacity or comparable experience in the industry.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Law, or a related field.
    • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
    • Solid experience in conducting risk assessments, developing controls, and monitoring effectiveness of controls.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in using GRC software and tools.
    Requirements - Advantageous
    • Relevant certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISA, CISSP, or similar.
    • Experience with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
