Ganado Advocates participates in a Malta-focused event on internationalisation Author: Ganado Advocates Published on April 29, 2022 Simon Schembri and James Farrugia from Ganado Advocates participated in a 4-day event entitled ‘Missione Malta – Commercialisti e Imprese Verso i Mercati Esteri’ (Mission Malta – Business Professionals and Enterprises for Foreign Trade) between the 25th and 28th of April. The event, organised by A.I.C.E.C. and supported by Apri Europa, aimed at bringing local business professionals, looking at internationalising their business, together to learn about and discuss what needs to be considered when looking at expanding their business outside the Italian market with special focus on business opportunities in Malta. Simon Schembri participated in a roundtable discussion on the 26th of April about the Maltese legal framework and judicial system, mainly focusing his presentation on the principles of common law and civil law as well as the general principles of corporate law. In a morning session on the 27th of April, James Farrugia participated in a discussion that shed light on current topics of interest affecting Maltese businesses, mainly finance, blockchain, cryptocurrencies and cryptosecurity, compliance and anti-money laundering considerations.
