The New Legislative Framework relating to Blockchain and Crypto Currencies Published on June 20, 2018 Max Ganado, Leonard Bonello & James Farrugia were the speakers during a seminar organised by the Institute of Legal Studies and held at the Hilton Malta on the 19 June 2018. During the seminar, a snapshot summary of the three Bills related to Blockchain technology was provided by the presenters. The Malta Digital Innovation Authority Act, the Innovative Technology Arrangements and Services Act, and the Virtual Financial Assets Act have as their ultimate objective the fostering of a favourable environment for Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) and related service providers. It is hoped that once enacted, these Bills will be filling the legislative gaps in what currently is a legal vacuum rife with a felt desire of legal certainty. Go back
