On the 8th of December, FinanceMalta organised a half-day information seminar, entitled ‘Access for Funds & Managers to the European Union Marketplace’, at the Convene Conference Centre in New York. The seminar was targeted mainly at US-based companies wanting to expand their business in the EU. The event brought together funds, fund managers and other professionals within the fund business who want to explore alternative models and understand the opportunities and legal implications such models may have on their current business.

Dr Andre Zerafa, Partner heading GANADO Advocates’ Investment Services and Funds practice, contributed to both panel discussions at this seminar, which also saw the participation of a number of European and US professionals within the fund management community. Dr Zerafa introduced and moderated the first session, aimed at discussing considerations when marketing to EU investors, and contributed as a panelist to the second session on the set up of fund structures in Europe.
